The rookie Silver Fern goal shoot Cathrine Latu is pleading with the New Zealand netball public to have patience with her as she learns on the international stage.
Last night Latu put in twice the court time against England that she was allowed in the heavy loss to Australia, but she was still dragged after half-time in Wellington for the far more experienced Irene van Dyk.
The Silver Ferns trailed by two goals at that point and the top duo of van Dyk and Maria Tutaia then guided the hosts to an 11-point victory.
Latu says she's well aware that fans believe the 40-year-old South African-born shooter is irreplaceable, and she's the first to say that van Dyk is still the best in the world.
She says she knows she's got her work cut out but van Dyk can't stay there forever even though she's been there for half of forever, which is an amazing achievement.
The Quad Series moves to Tauranga on Sunday - New Zealand face South Africa and England play the unbeaten Australians.
