Canterbury have won their fifth consecutive national provincial rugby title beating Auckland 31-18 in the ITM Cup Premiership final in Christchurch on Saturday night.
Canterbury outscored Auckland three tries to two after leading 15-13 at half-time.
The Canterbury fullback Tom Taylor scored 23 points including two tries.
The match was Auckland captain's Daniel Braid's 100th for the province.
The last side to win the title, aside from Canterbury, was Auckland in 2007.
