Cane itching to get some game time

The All Blacks are well into preparations in Edinburgh for the opening test of their four-match northern hemisphere tour against Scotland.

There has been plenty of intensity in training with the All Blacks coach Steve Hansen saying that all of the 32-man squad will get a run in the first two tests against either Scotland or Italy.

Hansen will then select his best side for the bigger tests against Wales and England, so the likes of loose forward Sam Cane can't wait to get some much-needed game time.

Cane has only played a cameo role so far in his debut season and hardly featured for Bay of Plenty either.

He's likely to start one of the first two tests with regular openside and captain Richie McCaw rested.
