No changes for All Whites in China

6:38 pm on 7 November 2012

The New Zealand Premier League football stars Ryan Nelsen and Winston Reid have been called up by All Whites coach Ricki Herbert for next week's friendly against China in Shanghai.

Herbert has named an unchanged squad for the friendly and New Zealand Football CEO Grant McKavanagh says they're not expecting

The Hammers coach Sam Allardyce criticised New Zealand Football for flying an injured Reid out for last month's World Cup qualifiers, then not playing him against Tahiti.

However the national body's boss McKavanagh says they've had dialogue with all the clubs and received releases via email so it's all sorted out.

Herbert's stuck with the All Whites squad who have delivered four wins from four starts in FIFA World Cup qualifying.

If selected, Leo Bertos and captain Ryan Nelsen are poised to make their 50th 'A' international appearances in the match.

All of Herbert's overseas professionals have been called up for the match although China-based striker Chris Killen's domestic season has finished and he will not travel due to personal commitments.

The only injury concern surrounds striker Shane Smeltz who has been sidelined with a hamstring strain since the All Whites 3-0 win over Tahiti in Christchurch last month.

The China game takes place overnight next Thursday-Friday.
