The Springboks have named Pat Lambie at first five as one of three injury enforced changes for this weekend's tour first international on their northern tour against Ireland in Dublin.
Lambie replaces Johan Goosen, who started in the number 10 jersey in last month's 32-10 Rugby Championship loss to the All Blacks in Soweto.
JP Pietersen and lock Juandre Kruger come in for star winger Bryan Habana and Andries Bekker respectively after injuries ruled the duo out of the Springboks entire tour.
Other senior players missing from the tour include Schalk Burger, Juan Smith and Heinrich Brussow.
