The star New Zealand jockey James McDonald has had his appeal against a 14-meet suspension dismissed, and the 20-year-old will miss next weekend's New Zealand Cup at Riccarton.
McDonald wanted his ban dropped for causing interference to a rival horse while riding Fiorente to second place in Tuesday's Melbourne Cup.
But the race stewards wouldn't admit video evidence, including from a camera on his helmet, so the suspension stands.
