A week after being humiliated by France in Paris, Australia's bounced back with a 20-14 win over England at Twickenham.
England led 14-11 at half-time.
Australia was beaten 33-6 last weekend in Paris when their scrum fell apart but turned in a much more committed second half performance in London.
England, looking for a third successive victory over the Wallabies, piled on the pressure in the last 20 minutes but paid a heavy price for trying to run kickable penalties as strong Australian defending kept them at bay.
