The world golf number five Adam Scott earned his first gold jacket on Sunday as Australian Masters champion, and he's keener than ever now to become the first Australian to win a green jacket at the US Masters.

Scott, with his Kiwi caddie Steve Williams alongside, comprehensively outplayed the English Ryder Cup hero Ian Poulter on the final day at Kingstone Heath in Melbourne to win the title by four strokes.

On a great day for New Zealand pros, Wellingtonians Mark Brown and Gareth Paddison tied for third, and Aucklander Michael Hendry bounced back from his third round 79 with a 69 to tie for sixth place.
