NZ batsmen coming to terms with lethal spinner

The New Zealand batsmen were finally able to get on level terms with the Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath.

After winning the toss, the Black Caps finished the first day of the second cricket test in Colombo on 223 for 2 with captain Ross Taylor on 119 and Kane Williamson on 95.

Herath, who took 11 wickets in the homeside's first test victory, bowled 21 overs without success.

Taylor admits there wasn't a lot of spin in the pitch, but he's still happy with the way he and Williamson batted against him.

His unbeaten knock of 119, is Taylor's 8th test century.
