The Australia cricket captain Michael Clarke's regained his ranking as the No.1 Test batsman in the world after his record breaking performance in the second Test draw against South Africa in Adelaide.

He's returned to the top of the ICC rankings following his first innings knock of 230.

It was Clarke's fourth double hundred of the year, the first time the feat has been recorded.

Clarke moves past Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara and the South African pair Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis.

It is the third time in his career Clarke has been rated as the best batsman in Test cricket.
