The Auckland City football side has had a morale-boosting 2-0 win over J-League 2 side Matsumoto Yamaga, as the New Zealand team continues its preparations for the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.

It was also a good chance to acclimatise to the local conditions for when City squares up with Japanese champions Hiroshima on Thursday - the match was played in two degrees Celsius and overcast conditions at Nagaoka.
