Wales' rugby fullback Leigh Halfpenny has been released from hospital after being cleared of a serious neck injury following Sunday's 14-12 loss to the Wallabies in Cardiff.

Halfpenny had played a starring role for his side until he was stretchered off the Millennium Stadium park after failing to stop Kurtley Beale scoring the winning try in the 79th minute.

Wales' next match is their opening Six Nations game against Ireland on the 2nd of February when they'll be trying to halt a seven-test losing streak.
