The Scottish Rugby Union is considering the appointment of an interim coach for the Six Nations Championship.

Andy Robinson left his role as head coach after Scotland's 21-15 loss to Tonga last month and his senior assistant, Australian Scott Johnson, is reportedly prepared to step into the breach.

New Zealander Sean Lineen, who first played for Scotland in 1989 and is a former coach of Glasgow Warriors is reportedly in the running for the longer term national appointment.
