Auckland City have been eliminated from football's Club World Cup tournament in Japan, after a 1-0 loss to the host team Sanfreccec Hiroshima.

The only goal in a match of few highlights came in the 66th minute, enough to give Hiroshima a place in the quarter-finals.

The match made history as the first game in which FIFA officially used goal-line technology although there was little opportunity to test its effectiveness.
