Ozil strikes twice for Real Madrid in La Liga

Mesut Ozil grabbed two goals as Real Madrid twice came from behind to win 3-2 at Valladolid and lift Jose Mourinho's side within two points of second-placed Atletico Madrid in Spanish football's top flight.

The champions Real are also now eight points behind leaders Barcelona, who travel to Real Betis on Monday.

The German international's brace included an exquisitely-curled, left-footed winner from a free-kick on 71 minutes to keep Madrid on the tails of Barca and second-placed Atletico Madrid.

Former Manchester United striker Manucho twice gave Valladolid first-half leads that Karim Benzema and Ozil levelled.

Atletico are now only two points ahead of their city neighbours - they entertain Deportivo La Coruna on Monday.
