Slater vs Parkinson for world surfing title

7:17 pm on 10 December 2012

There are just two men left in the battle for the world surfing championship after Mick Fanning was eliminated in the third round of the Billabong Pipe Masters in Hawaii.

The title race is now down to another Australian, Joel Parkinson, and the American great Kelly Slater.

Both surfers won their sudden-death heats, meaning the world title will be decided on the final day of competition.

Slater is gunning for an unprecedented 12th ASP World Title.
