The former New Zealand cricket captain Ross Taylor appears to be ready to put the last week behind him and get back into cricket in the new year.

New Zealand Cricket apologised to Taylor and his family yesterday following the way they handled his sacking last week.

Taylor has decided not to tour South Africa and is enjoying a few weeks off.

He tweeted Wednesday night that he appreciated the apology from New Zealand Cricket, is keen to put it behind him and is looking forward to getting back with the team soon.

Taylor may return to the Central Districts side in the New Year, while everyone will be hoping he returns to the national side for England's tour here in February.
