The South African batsman AB de Villiers has pulled out of the Twenty20 internationals against New Zealand, citing the need for extra rest before the tests in January.
Justin Ontong has replaced him in the squad.
De Villiers says it's been an exhausting few months and he feels he needs some extra rest before the test series.
The three-match T20 series against the Black Caps starts in Durban on Friday night.
