Veyron has won the Zabeel Classic from the favourite Shez Sinsational on a wet and slow Boxing Day race at Ellerslie.
Jockey Rogan Norvall rode a tactical race to the instructions of trainer Linda Laing, getting to the front and stacking up the field until the home straight when Veyron was given his head and no one could catch him.
Shez Sinsational was second after trailing the whole race on the damp track, but surging past the rest of the field as Veyron took off with 300 metres to go.
