Radwanska misses ASB Classic draw

The draw's been made for next week's WTA Classic tennis tournament in Auckland without the top seed Agnieszka Radwanska, who's been drawn against a little-known Frenchwoman, Kristina Mladenovic.

Somewhat embarrassingly for organisers, Radwanska's agent didn't factor in the time difference so the Polish world number four missed the draw and her media commitments.

But tournament director Karl Budge says while it's a shame she missed the meet-and-greet, it gave her another day at home to rest up and Radwanska always meant to arrive later on Saturday.

Second seeded German Julia Georges faces a qualifier, as does New Zealand No.1 Marina Erakovic, while third-seeded former champion Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium is drawn against tricky Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova.

Reigning champion Zheng Jie of China faces American Jamie Hampton.
