It was a happy New year for the New Zealand Breakers basketball side as they snapped their December 31st hoodoo to beat the Carins Taipans 66-61 in their Australian league game in Cairns.
The Breakers finished 2012 at the top of the competition after scoring their 11th win of the season.
Breakers point guard Cedric jackson scored 17 points and provided six assists while American centre Will Hudson contributed 12 points and seven rebounds.
