Belgium's Yanina Wickmayer has advanced to the quarter-finals of the Auckland women's tennis Classic.
The third seed and 2010 champion wasted little time in thrashing Romina Oprandi 6-3 6-love, Wickmayer taking just an hour to see off the Swiss on centre court.
Wickmayer faces her compatriot Kirsten Flipkens next, who eased past France's Pauline Parmentier 6-2 6-2.
Meanwhile Elena Vesnina of Russia has beaten Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan 6-2 6-3, knocking the 6th seed out of the tournament.
Vesnina will either meet the tournament's top seeded player Agnieszka Radwanska or Simona Halep in the quarter-finals.
Earlier, the eighth seed Mona Barthel of Germany beat Eleni Daniilidou of Greece 7-6, 6-2.
