World tennis number one Novak Djokovic has suffered a shock straight sets loss to Australian Bernard Tomic, 6-4 6-4 at the Hopman Cup team event in Perth.
Tomic had a poor 2012 in which he fell to outside the top 50 in the world rankings.
But he has recorded back-to-back victories at the Hopman Cup against Germany's Tommy Haas and Djokovic.
