Canadian football club Toronto FC has named All Whites captain Ryan Nelsen as new head coach.
The club's website says Nelsen is under contract with English premier league club Queens Park Rangers until June and remains in discussion with QPR to determine when he will officially join Toronto FC.
Toronto will kick off its Major League Soccer pre season in late January.
