Franklin out, Colin Munro to debut for Black Caps

5:42 am on 11 January 2013

All rounder Colin Munro will make his test debut when the New Zealand cricket side take on South Africa in the second test starting tonight in Port Elizabeth.

The Aucklander made his international Twenty20 debut earlier in South Africa and has replaced the injured James Franklin who has been forced to withdraw from the game because of a hamstring strain.

Munro will bat at number seven and be used in a fourth seamers role.

Meanwhile veteran bowler Chris Martin has been overlooked in the New Zealand 12 with South African born Neil Wagner preferred.

New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum says Wagner's aggression in the nets during the week has been rewarded with the call up.

Wagner will also replace the injured Adam Milne in the New Zealand one day squad for their upcoming series in South Africa.
