The All Whites coach Ricki Herbert says he understands why Ryan Nelsen is yet to make any committment about his football playing future.
Herbert says he hasn't spoken to Nelsen since it was revealed earlier in the week that the Queens Park Rangers defender will coach Toronto FC in the upcoming MLS season starting in March.
Nelsen is negotiating a possible early release from his English Premier league side while the All Whites also play the next stage of their world cup qualifiers in March.
Herbert says Nelsen has much to sort out and is philosophical about the prospect of losing the veteran captain, who has yet to make any committment about his playing future with New Zealand.
