New Zealand Breakers get out of jail in Townsville

The New Zealand Breakers basketball side have won their fourth successive away game with a 82-78 defeat of the Townsville Crocodiles in their Australian NBL game in Townsville.

The home side led by 14 points late in three-quarter-time before Mika Vukona and Cedric Jackson stepped up the intensity to reduce the margin to five with three minutes to play.

Then Tom Abercrombie scored nine straight points as the league leaders went onto successfully complete their comeback rally.

Abercrombie finished with 19 points at 60 per cent, while Jackson (10 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists), Alex Pledger (10 points, 9 rebounds) and Will Hudson (10 points, 8 rebounds) were also big contributors.
