Breakers in confident mood

The New Zealand Breakers have extended their winning streak to 7 matches and feel in a confident mood about the rest of the Australian National Basketball League season.

The two-time defending champions pulled away in the second half to beat the 36ers 84-66 in Adelaide last night to go 3 wins clear at the top of the table.

The Breakers did it without starting centre Alex Pledger, who failed a fitness test before the start of play for an ankle injury he suffered against Wollongong last Thursday.

Assistant coach Dean Vickerman says they feel they're better than any team in the League in the last 2 minutes of a match and they're now in a position to win another championship.

The Breakers host Sydney on Thursday.
