The Queensland Reds coaching director Ewen McKenzie has allayed the Blues' fears that their opening rugby trial in flood-hit Queensland could be cancelled.
The Blues coach John Kirwan thought the worst after watching TV coverage of the floods in south-east Queensland, but McKenzie says the venue in Toowoomba, west of Brisbane is half way up a hill and in no danger of being underwater.
Kirwan had mentioned the possibility of cancelling the match, and he sent a message of sympathy to victims of the devastating floods.
