The former All Black lock Brad Thorn will play his first match in New Zealand since the 2011 World Cup final after being named in the Highlanders starting side to take on the Chiefs in their Super Rugby pre-season game in Taupo tomorrow.
Thorn is back playing in New Zealand after a year in Japan and Ireland.
Thorn will turn 38 on Sunday.
He will be one of three players to pull on the Highlanders jersey for the first time, along with lock Joe Wheeler
and half back Frae Wilson.
