Breakers beat Perth in ANBL

The defending champion New Zealand Breakers have scored an emphatic 98-81 victory over the second placed Perth Wildcats in their ANBL basketball clash in Auckland.

The home side extended their winning streak to 10 matches and also added to their overall league lead, avenging two previous losses to the Wildcats this season with Cedric Jackson enjoying a standout game.

The American scored 22 points including four three-pointers, eight assists, five rebounds and five steals.

CJ Bruton and Corey Webster added 14 points each, while Tom Abercrombie had 12 points and five rebounds.

The Breakers were behind in the first half, but turned things around with a dominant display on the boards.

The Breakers are now five wins ahead of Perth at the top of the standings, although the Wildcats have played three less games.

There are seven regular season games to go for the Breakers with four of them at home, while the Wildcats have 10 fixtures left, with seven at home.

The Breakers have an 18-3 win loss record and their arch-rivals are 13 and five.
