Hosts South Africa have been knocked out of the African Nations Cup football tournament after losing a penalty shootout 3-1 to Mali after their quarter-final ended in a 1-1 draw after extra time in Durban.
Mali will now face either Ivory Coast or Nigeria in the semi-finals.
In the other quarter-final Ghana beat Cape Verde 2-0 and will now play either Burkina Faso or Togo in the last four.
