Ferrari have unveiled their Formula One car they hope will unseat Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel as world champion this year.

The Ferrari F138 was launched at the team's works in Maranello ahead of testing next week in Spain.

It is the 59th car to be built by Ferrari, the only team to have competed in every year of the Formula One world championship.

Drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa will be in a car which has a smoother-looking nose section compared to the 2012 version.

The F138 name is a combination of the current year and the number of cylinders in the V8 engines that will have their last season after an eight-year run.

The Italian outfit finished second to Red Bull in 2012 in the constructors' championship, while Alonso was runner-up to Vettel in the drivers' championship.
