England beat Brazil in friendly

The England footballers have beaten Brazil for the first time in 23-years with a 2-1 victory in a friendly at Wembley.

Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard scored the goals against the five-time world champions which consigned Luiz Felipe Scolari to defeat in the first game of his second spell as Brazil coach.

World and European champions Spain beat South American champions Uruguay 3-1 in Doha to stretch their unbeaten run to 18 games.

Germany claimed their first win over France in 26 years with a 2-1 victory in Paris.

In other friendlies, Scotland got off to a winning start under new manager Gordon Strachan, beating Estonia 1-nil in Aberdeen.

Argentina beat Sweden 3-2 in Stockholm, the Netherlands and Italy drew 1-all in Amsterdam, Wales beat Austria 2-1 in Swansea, Romania beat Australia 3-2 in Malaga, Ireland beat Poland 2-nil in Dublin.
