SBW win acknowledged by WBA, rematch on the cards

4:17 pm on 10 February 2013

While the World Boxing Association has been quoted as outraged at Sonny Bill Williams' controversial victory over Frans Botha on Friday night, the organisation has quietly posted the win on its web page.

Click on the results link on the WBA site and there is the result: Williams beating Botha on a unanimous points decision in a 10-round fight, despite it being advertised and promoted as 12 rounds - including by Williams himself.

The former All Black has taken to Twitter to say he'll gladly have a rematch with Botha - even in South Africa.

Williams Tweeted that he'd take the fight after "God willing, having a good footy season". He returns to rugby league with the Sydney Roosters now.

Williams also says he'd like to commend the Queensland boxing authorities for their sincerity and honesty in acknowledging that both parties and the Commission knew it was a 10-round fight.
