Finn optimistic he'll eventually stop kicking down stumps

The England pace bowler Steve Finn is optimistic he'll get to the stage where he avoids disturbing the stumps altogether when he's bowling.

Finn has an ongoing problem whereby he knocks the stumps during his delivery stride and the International Cricket Council issued a rule clarification before the current England tour here.

A bowler's allowed to disturb the stumps once without penalty, then all subsequent deliveries are deemed a dead ball which means he can't take a wicket or concede runs with the delivery re-bowled.

It was an issue for the Black Caps in when they were denied a boundary and seven runs in total off Finn during their World Twenty20 loss in Sri Lanka last year.

Finn says he's been working hard over the past four months to eradicate his problem.
