The double Olympic shotput champion Valerie Adams will compete in Auckland in an international competition in the city at The Cloud early next month.
The public will be able to watch Adams compete against her international rivals at Shot in the City, which will take place on March the second.
The Auckland Council and sports bodies agreed to fund the event with Sport New Zealand providing 80-thousand dollars and the council kicking in another 30-thousand dollars.
