Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy were sensationally bundled out of the World Golf Championships Match Play Championship in the Arizona desert.
McIlroy, seed number one, fell to 64th seeded Irishman Shane Lowry, who prevailed 1-up, while Woods was beaten 2 and 1 by Charles Howell III.
Three-time event champion Woods never led his match while McIlroy threw away a 2-up lead after five holes.
Lee Westwood, Charl Schwartzel, and Jason Dufner also had early exits.
