The Melbourne Vixens went through the main ANZ netball pre-season tournament undefeated this weekend, sending out a warning sign, four weeks out from the start of the ANZ Championships.

Among their victims at the inaugural event were New Zealand franchises the Canterbury Tactix and Northern Mystics.

The Vixens sported several different line ups including former Australian captain Sharelle McMahon, who's making a return to netball, after having a baby.

The Queensland Firebirds were the only other team to come through the competition undefeated in their section of the draw.

The Northern Mystics, who are being mentored by former Silver Fern coach Ruth Aitken lost all of their three games.

The Canterbury Tactix had a one win three-loss record, that win coming against the Mystics.

The Southern Steel had two losses and a rare win on Australian soil over the New South Wales Swifts 36 - 35.

The defending champion Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic and the Central Pulse did not attend the tournament.
