In-form Hendry one stroke behind at The Hills

6:40 pm on 28 February 2013

The Auckland golfer Michael Hendry is one shot behind the leaders late on day one of the New Zealand PGA Championship in Queenstown.

Hendry's the defending champion at The Hills, and shot a five under par 67 for a share of fourth, one stroke behind three Australians, Aaron Townsend, Matthew Ballard and Adam Bland.

Hendry says winning back-to-back titles at Sir Michael Hill's private course this week will help his confidence and give him momentum to carry into the Cadillac Open next week in the United States.
