The Hawkes Bay teenager Bobbi Gichard broke the national record twice in the 200 backstroke at the National Age Group Swimming Championships in Wellington.
The 13-year-old also went under the qualifying time for the World Junior Championships.
Gichard broke the old national age group record of the talented Sophia Bachelor by nearly two seconds in the morning heats. She then took almost another two seconds off it in the final.
