Black Sticks lose a tight final test

The New Zealand women's hockey team has lost their final test match against Argentina 1-0 in Rosario to lose the series 2-1.

After a win apiece and two draws, the Black Sticks had a shot at a rare series win over the world number twos but the Argentine women scored the only goal in the first half to Delfina Merino.

The Black Sticks played well in the second half but were frustrated with three penalty corner attempts all going unrewarded.

Striker Katie Glynn also hit the post in the first half.

Black Sticks coach Mark Hager says the good thing is that Argentina are coming to New Zealand in April for the Four Nations Tournament, along with United States and Korea.

The Four Nations is being played in Whangarei, Hamilton and Tauranga from the 10th to the 21st of April.
