Newcastle have opened their National Rugby League season with an emphatic 42-10 victory over Wests Tigers in Newcastle.
Newcastle scored 7 tries including a hat-trick to New South Wales winger Akuila Uate to make it a first game to forget for new Tigers coach Mick Potter.
The visitors scored the opening try, but that was the only bright spot as the Knights then touched down seven times in a 50-minute period.
