The Cairns Taipans have climbed into the playoff places in the National Basketball League after scoring a crucial victory over the Adelaide 36ers at the Cairns Convention Centre.
The Taipans won 76-73 to leapfrog Sydney into fourth place on the ladder, with two matches until the playoffs.
