Liana Leota says Pulse capable of top-four finish

After taking a year out to have a baby and be with her rugby playing husband in England, the former Silver Fern Liana Leota is on the comeback trail.

Leota's been recruited by her old Southern Steel coach Robyn Broughton for the Central Pulse's ANZ trans-Tasman netball campaign which gets underway this weekend.

Leota says her plan was always to return to the ANZ next year, but once Broughton secured the services of key players such as shooter Donna Wilkins, the lure was too strong.

A likely starting seven for the Pulse would feature either current or former internationals and the midcourter says there is a definite belief within the team that they can make their first ANZ play-offs this year.

Leota says she wants to make a return to the Silver Ferns but says she has to prove herself again.
