England has secured an unlikely draw in the third and deciding cricket test against New Zealand in Auckland.

Set an impossible target of 481 to win the match, England batted for a day and half to save the game and the series, getting across the line with only one wicket to spare.

Starting day five at 90 for four, England lost two wickets in the morning session which brought Ian Bell and Matt Prior together at the crease.

Bell was eventually out for 75 after tea , but Prior batted on to save the game, making 110 in the process.

With four overs left in the day the Black Caps part time spin bowler Kane Williamson removed Stuart Broad and James Anderson to get New Zealand within a wicket of victory.

But Prior and the tail ender Monty Panesar were able to survive the final few overs to draw the Test as well as the three match series.
