The New Zealand cricket captain Brendon McCullum will miss tonight's opening match of the Indian Premier League because of injury.
McCullum is still in New Zealand recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered in the last Test against England.
An update on his injury is expected in the next couple of days.
McCullum's defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders play the Delhi Daredevils tonight.
Delhi is the team Jesse Ryder was to play for before being assualted in Christchurch.
