Kiwis suffer another injury blow ahead of ANZAC test

The Kiwis playmaker Benji Marshall was due to undergo scans this afternoon on an injured toe, in the second major injury blow New Zealand's hopes of ending a five match losing streak to Australia.

Marshall suffered the injury in the Wests Tigers NRL loss to the Melbourne Storm last night and is set to miss next week's ANZAC league test against the Kanagaroos in Canberra.

Marshall played through the injury but left the ground wearing a surgical book and the Wests Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys says Marshall's likely to be out for several weeks and possibly for up to three months.

It's double blow for the Kiwis who yesterday learnt that St George-Illawarra fullback Gerard Beale, who was also expected to be part of the test squad, is out for the rest of the season after re-rupturing ligaments in his left knee in his side's win over Newcastle on Sunday.
