ITF agrees to hear Pakistan appeal

11:36 am on 17 April 2013

The International Tennis Federation has agreed to hear an appeal by Pakistan against the awarding of their Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Group 11 tie to New Zealand.

Pakistan were disqualified from the tie earlier this month in Myanmar after the Sri Lankan referee ruled that the grass court had become unplayable and dangerous.

The tie was moved to Myanmar after New Zealand refused to go to Pakistan for security reasons.

The appeal will be heard by the ITF's board of directors next month.
