The Wellington Saints have scored their second win on the opening weekend of the National Basketball League after beating Waikato 115-84.

Saints suffered an early blow as lone import Andrew Warren suffered a cut to the thumb only seven minutes into the contest, which ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

Replacing Warren was shooting guard Jordan Mills, who made the most of his opportunities, blowing up for a career high and also game-high 33 points.

Nelson beat Manawatu 82-67 and Otago thrashed Waitakere 111-77.

On the opening night, Manawatu beat Hawke's Bay, Southland beat Waitakere and Saints beat Taranaki.
